Prior to her real estate career, Janet worked in both the corporate tech world and as an owner of a small consulting business. She graduated with honors from San Jose State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry and worked over 27 years at IBM in engineering, management, and executive sales. These various positions garnered her deep skills in negotiation and project management. Additionally, having lived overseas in Italy and Brazil, as well as in New York and Connecticut, she appreciates the frame of reference many clients often have when relocating to the San Francisco bay area, and offers a consultative approach and bridge to understanding our local market and communities.
She is humbled that there is always something more to learn. Janet continues to access the latest insights, news, laws, and best practices to serve her clients and community better, and currently serves on a local homeowner association board as Vice President, and is a member of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® as well as the San Francisco Apartment Association, California Apartment Association, and Apartment Owners Association.
Janet is passionate about giving back to the communities where she lives, works, and invests, and 1% of all her commissions goes to local charities through Sereno’s 1% for Good Foundation. She also serves on the board of Voices of Hope Humanitarian Choir and volunteers her time with the San Jose Chamber Music Society.
In addition to all these activities, Janet loves to bake cookies for her clients, family, and friends. Check out her blog for recipes of her favorite cookies! She also loves to spend time with her family visiting local restaurants, hiking on nearby trails, and of course, singing! Her love of classical music and art fills her home and her life. On most Sunday mornings you can find her singing at one of several local churches, most notably St Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Saratoga and St Luke’s Episcopal Church in Los Gatos.
